GRAVITY CANYONWind Warriors took a trip to
Gravity Canyon, Mokai Gorge, Taihape ,NZ, for the birthday of our instructor Glen Butcher.
Gravity Canyon boasts the
Worlds most Extreme Flying Fox, NZs highest Bridge Swing, and the North Islands Highest Bungy Jump.Velocity Girl, Laura Simpson hooked us up with our passes and away we went!
This place Rocks! its got all 3 adrenaline fuelled experiences in the same spot, with a cosy cafe and viewing platforms for your friends and family to watch your adventures in Velocity in comfort.
Unfortunately for Glen and his 13yr old daredevil neice Sam the Bungy was closed this day due to high river levels but the Fox and the Swing were theirs for the taking.

Frothing In Foxton!Ozone NZ & Decay Team Rider Olly Brunton paid us a visit at Wind Warriors for a 30 knot kiteloop session at the EPIC Manawatu Estuary here at Foxton Beach.
He was flying the Ozone 9m C4 and riding his Decay FALCATTA 135 x 40.

Go Pro HD Hero We recently acquired a Go Pro HD camera to film our kiting antics here at Wind Warriors. Its waterproof and shock proof and takes a great picture as well as awesome footage as well.

Dune Buggy ProjectWe have some awesome Dune riding possibilities here in Foxton Beach
so when a friend of mine, Mad Mike, rolled up in town in his house bus with welding workshop in tow, i set him to work on my Ozone Stealth Buggy.
The result was a new front end to take Bigfoot tyres, enabling easy access to the sand dunes for all kinds of offroad fun.
Check out this video we made of the finished project and the first test session in the dunes of the Manawatu Estuary .
We were both on ozone Frenzy FYX D-Power kites making handling the dunes a breeze even in the lightest and strongest of winds.

Wellington Harbour BlastWind Warriors Glen Butcher attended the Harbour Blast race across the Wellington Harbour on Sunday 21st. The race is for Wind Surfers and Kitesurfers and ran from Petone, around Somes Island and across to Eastbourne to finish.
The race is approximately 9-10km long and had a record 55 starters split evenly between Kitesurfers and Windsurfers.
Light winds on the day made the racing interesting with an offshore start in the sketchy conditions.
Butch managed to push hard and catch the leaders on his 17m Ozone Zephyr and Decay Cutlass Kiteboard, passing the last of them 200m before the finish line and landing on the beach in 1st place ahead of both kitesurfers and windsurfers.
WELL DONE BUTCH!!!!!

Landboard Speed Attempt Quadrolution + Ozone Manta III 8m = new unoffocial Landboard speed record according to Kitecrowd forum in the UK.

Now the speed to make is the big 50mph! Watch this space.

Ozone/Decay Demo Weekend
Wind warriors hosted about 30 of the regions kitesurfers and land kiters for a Demo weekend of the entire range of Ozone Kites, both land and Water, and the range of Decay Kiteboards.
We had an epic party on the Saturday evening with sounds from Olly Brunton, great food, nakedness and great company!
In attendance we had Hugh Pinfold, designer from OZONE KITES, & Dave Kay, owner/manufacturer of DECAY KITEBOARDS, along with a host of well known faces from the NZ kite scene.
Despite the lack of a lot of wind we had an absolute blast, a load of laughs and some mellow landboard & buggy action on thre hardpacked sands of Foxton Beach.
We had newspaper reporters from The Manawatu Standard as well as the Horowhenua Mail and George the cameraman and Mike Feyen from Tararua TV came along and produced a 20 minute segment on the event for the UNDER CURRENT program on 623 mhz Tararua TV .
We'll be doing it again, so watch this space, and a huge thankyou for those who came along for the ride.

Decay KiteboardToday arrived my new board from DECAY KITEBOARDS.
Dave Kay did an awesome job of my wee estuary board, and i can't thank him enough!
The board is a tiny 112cm long and is to aid me in my Landboard downwinders here on the west coast. Ill carry it on my back and use it to cross the estuarys that stand between me and my goals as i traverse the hard sand on the beach on my new Ground Industries Conflict 116.

Ta Moko artist Caine Tawhai.Ive just come back from another session with renowned Ta Moko artist
Caine Tawhai.Caine is a master at what he does and has a super light touch and steady hand, as well as being super professional in both his work and his personal background. His work is tight with awesome detail and personal meaning.
Hes also a master at Wood carvings, maori graphic design, and a mean mixed martial arts fighter.
